Chelsea + Michael: Atlanta Coffee Shop + Oakland Cemetery Engagement Shoot

Chelsea and Michael were a referral from a sweet bridesmaid who was in a wedding I shot last summer. Chelsea sent me the kindest inquiry, and I knew we were going to hit it off right away. Besides being basically one of the best people you’ll ever meet, she was excited about creating beautiful photos - exactly my speed!

I wanted our shoot to represent the couple (they love coffee and nature) and their aesthetic: modern, artistic, and beautiful. We scouted a great coffee shop and a cemetery (stick with me here) for their locations.

Because the second part of our shoot would be outdoors, we wanted somewhere with a different feel so we could have variety in their gallery. We started the shoot at Dancing Goats Coffee Bar in Midtown - It has an industrial design with beautiful rustic wood details, and a bright wheel mural I knew we would absolutely take advantage of for our shoot.

The most surprising part of our shoot was the cemetery, though. I know - a cemetery?! But it’s one of the largest cemetery green spaces in Atlanta, and holds an abundance of oak and magnolia trees, plus stunning stone building structures.

Hope you enjoy this sweet and stunning engagement session!
