Fall Wedding Series Part 3: Mary and Cameron

Last year the majority of weddings I was apart of took place outside of Augusta, but it was nice to return to my roots for Mary and Cameron’s. I love Augusta and the beauty that surrounds me here, and photographing wedding in my hometown reminds not to take for granted our own gorgeous architecture and landscapes. Mary and Cameron’s ceremony was held at the Sanctuary of Augusta, with the reception a short commute across town at the gorgeous Marriott Hotel downtown (which is practically in my neighborhood!).

The ceremony took place mid-morning so that the reception could serve brunch, which I was completely smitten with! (A complete brunch menu, and, of course, a variety of sweet pastries? I can wake up a little earlier for that!). The brunch options were a hit with the guests who enjoyed dancing and merriment afterwards. Also, be sure to check out that cake in the photos to follow. Yum.

I mentioned in a prior post that rain would be a common theme in these upcoming posts, and Mary and Cameron’s was no different. While we did have to quickly think of a Plan B for portraits (the hotel faces the river; our planned portrait location), I was so thankful that they picked a venue filled to the brim with gorgeous details. Rolling hallways, grand stairways, and luxurious chandeliers? Yes, please.

It was actually an exciting change for me as the photographer. During weddings, I have to be able to quickly adapt and go-with-the-flow, and I find that most times that can work out for the better; we were able to capture Mary and Cameron inside the Marriott’s beautiful interiors. I love shooting outdoors in natural light, but it's fun to switch it up and take advantage of the beauty found inside too. Of course, these two are so sweet and gracious that they adapted quickly to the changes with no complaints. They were so happy to be married and celebrating their joyous day that I'm sure nothing could have stomped on their mood. Not to mention, they're a pretty beautiful couple, so they can make any backdrop look perfect. Take that, Mother Nature!

Overall, the day was absolutely lovely and these two are absolutely loved by their friends and family. One of my favorite moments was after their send-off. They didn't exit and leave the venue immediately, but they actually stuck around a few extra minutes to thank their friends and families and say their goodbyes before heading off to their honeymoon.

Truly it was a lovely day for a lovely couple. Thank you for letting me share in your celebration, M + C!
